How to Choose Flattering Maxi Dresses that make you look like a Willowy Goddess

If you have never even heard of maxi dresses until this point, you might have no clue as to which styles will best compress your waist and tummy, and help perk your chest. Here are a few points you need to bear in mind to ensure you look chic, cool, and stylish this season.

- DON'T go too big! If you are trying valiantly to hide a muffin-top under a maxi, nothing will draw more unwanted attention to it than a million miles of unnecessary fabric. Choose maxi dresses with a flattering slimmer cut to avoid becoming swamped.

- DO choose chunky heels. Chunky heels compliment pretty maxi dresses perfectly. They elongate your legs, pull Maxi Dressyour tummy in, and give your butt a fantastic uplift.

- DON'T go for spaghetti straps if you are well-endowed in the chest area. If you are top heavy, halter-neck maxi dresses will better flatter your figure, and your bosom will be thanking you for the added support at the end of a long day.

- DO choose maxi dresses with a frontal drape if you have a bigger tummy. A frontal drape will disguise an extra couple of cuddly pounds, especially if you choose a bold, patterned design.

- DON'T go for a paisley print if you have skyscraper hips. Bolder and bigger patterns will be much kinder to your hips and tummy than smaller prints which will unfortunately highlight these problem areas.

- DO choose an A-line cut if you are vertically challenged. If you are less than 5'4, A-line or bias cut maxi dresses will add inches to your height. A diaphanous or baggy dress will make you look short and stumpy.

Maxi dresses are a bold feminine statement, and they can be dressed up or down. Maxi dresses are super sexy, elegant, cool, and versatile for those with thick legs that are usually hidden behind trousers. If you can't recall all of the tips when you are shopping for your new wardrobe additions, just remember: It's all in the cut!
